Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos)

Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos)

The Day of the Dead, or Día de Muertos, is a Mexican holiday that celebrates life and death. It is observed on 31st October, 1st November, and 2nd November, and it is a time to remember and honour loved ones who have passed away. Families often create altars with photographs of the deceased, as well as their favourite foods and flowers. They may also visit gravesites and decorate them with colourful paper banners known as calavera’s. Day of the Dead is a joyful holiday, and it is believed that the dead return to Earth on this day to be with their families once again.
