Elizabeth Taylor was an actress noted for her unique beauty and her portrayals of volatile and strong-willed characters. Her most famous performance was in the film, National Velvet (1944). She plays a young woman who rescues a horse and trains it to race. In her 61-year career, Elizabeth Taylor received some of the film industry’s top awards and honour’s as well as being knighted by the Queen in the year 2000.
