Elvis Presley’s “Hound Dog” goes #1 (1956)

Elvis Presley released the song ‘Hound Dog’  in 1956, this was Elvis’ longest running number one hit. It topped the charts for 11 weeks. A lot of people mistakenly assume that this song was a Presley original however the song was recorded for the very first time by the rhythm and blues singer Ellie Mae Thornton in Los Angeles, California.
