Harry Houdini Performs in Amsterdam (1903)

In 1903, the world-renowned magician and escape artist Harry Houdini took the stage at the Royal Theatre in Amsterdam. The audience was eager to see what Houdini had in store, and they were not disappointed. For his first trick, Houdini performed the famous “vanishing elephant” illusion. He then proceeded to escape from a locked cabinet while suspended upside down from a rope. The crowd went wild as Houdini freed himself in just a matter of seconds. As always, Houdini left them wanting more, and they gave him a standing ovation.
