Harry Houdini stays in a coffin under water for 1½ hrs before escaping

Harry Houdini was born in Budapest on the 24th March 1874. His family dreamed of a better life and migrated to America when he was just two years of age. Houdini found his passion and talent for magic in America and started out by performing card tricks, which eventually moved onto daring escape tricks that he filmed. His escape tricks involved breaking out handcuffs in famous settings, such as police stations. In 1926, he stayed inside a sealed coffin under a swimming pool at New York’s Shelton Hotel for one and a half hours before escaping, without any breathing support!
