Henry I is crowned King of England (1100)

Henry I was born during 1069 in Selby, Yorkshire. He was the youngest of William the Conqueror’s sons, who, as King of England, strengthened the crown’s powers. His coronation took place at Westminster Abbey on 5th August, 1100, just three days after his brother, King William II had been shot by an arrow while out hunting. Henry I was a skilled, intelligent monarch who achieved peace in England, relative stability in Normandy, and notable administrative advances on both sides of the Channel.
