Henry VIII is crowned King of England (1509)

Henry VIII reigned as monarch from 1509 right up until his death in 1547. He is well known in history for marrying six wives, marriages that have been dramatised many times in film, television and literature.  The monarch’s creation of The Church of England changed the course of British history, causing a period of unsettlement.
