National Hugging Day

National Hugging Day is celebrated every year on the 21st January. It was created in 1986 by relationship expert Kevin Zaborney in order to encourage people to express their affection for one another. While the idea of hugging may seem simple, the act can actually have a number of benefits. For one, hugging can help to reduce stress and anxiety levels. In addition, hugging can boost the immune system, improve cardiovascular health, and even increase levels of oxytocin, the so-called “cuddle hormone.”
