National Ice Cream Day

National Ice Cream Day

National Ice Cream Day started in 1984 and originally signalled the start of a whole ice cream month! It was actually made an official celebration by President Ronald Reagan. The origins of the day can be found in the US government’s desire to support the dairy industry, which at the time was coming under some scrutiny. On National Ice Cream Day, people celebrate by treating themselves to their favourite flavours, dipping into sweet desserts and trying to invent wacky new flavours!
