Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day

On Valentine’s Day, globally, people exchange chocolates, flowers and gifts all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and where did these traditions come from? One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. He defied the Emperor Claudius II who banned young men from marrying their lovers by performing marriages in secret.
