VE Day

VE Day

On the 8th May, 1945 both the UK and USA first celebrated ‘Victory in Europe Day.’ This marked the official day when the allied forces acknowledged the end of the Second World War and was marked with street parties, flag waving and celebration. After six years of war, this day of victory signalled hope for the future and a chance to reflect on ways to move forward.
