Winston Churchill Born (1874)

Winston Churchill was born on the 30th November, 1874, in Oxfordshire, England. His father, Lord Randolph Churchill, was a prominent politician, and his mother, Jennie Jerome, was an American socialite. Churchill was educated at prestigious schools like Harrow and Sandhurst. He went on to have a successful military career, serving in India and Sudan, and writing bestselling books about his experiences. In 1900, he was elected to Parliament as a Conservative member. Over the next few decades, he held various positions in government, including Home Secretary and First Lord of the Admiralty. In 1940, he became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and led the country through World War II. After the war, he served as Prime Minister again from 1951 to 1955. He died on the 24th January, 1965. Winston Churchill was one of the most influential political leaders of the 20th century.
