Freelance Exercise Trainer

Location: South-East Region

Our flagship Exercise Leadership ‘train the trainer’ course is a core part of our offering and enables individuals supporting older people to deliver fun, varied and inspiring exercise sessions which keep people active, engaged and connected.

We believe that if you can make every day fun for those giving and receiving care they will be happier, healthier and more fulfilled. We are a dynamic, driven team full of purpose and possibility, with strong values at our core: Cheerful, Compassionate, Committed, Commercial, Challenging, Creative.

What you’ll do:

This role will involve delivering the Oomph! Exercise training to two different sets of clients: staff members that work in older people care homes and team members/ residents living in community settings (such as sheltered housing schemes or retirement living operators).

The training covers not only the importance of exercise and health and safety across various medical conditions, but also how to plan and deliver sessions which are fun and engaging, how to personalise sessions, how to motivate people to come and keep coming and essentially how to be a great leader. It’s a practical course, underpinned with theory, and we want a trainer who is a brilliant communicator, a strong influencer, pragmatic and filled with energy and passion that will inspire learners to go back to their residents and begin delivering on Day 1.

The role is a freelance role, so we would train you to deliver our courses and then book you in for courses as required. Our courses are either 1 or 2 full-day courses.

What you’ll need:

• Level 3 personal trainer
• Experience of running exercise sessions for older people
• Experience of delivering training to others
• Ability to communicate information in an engaging way
• Ability to facilitate practical learning sessions
• Strong organisational skills
• Passionate about older adult wellbeing
