Through Radioline, residents can now enjoy 110,000 radio programmes and podcasts that cover genres from sports, to politics, to history, to news and everything in between
Radioline is the newest feature to be added to the Oomph! Wellbeing & Activities platform; it provides residents and staff with access to 110,000 radio stations (FM, AM and internet) and podcasts in a range of genres, giving people living and working in care the freedom and opportunity to tune in to programmes they love and find what interests them.
Now part of the Oomph! On-Demand Wellbeing & Activities platform, residents and staff can click on the radio icon on the lefthand side within the platform and experience thousands of hours of entertaining and informative content. The layout of Radioline is quick and easy to use and is presented in the same simple and intuitive style as many other popular podcast and radio streaming services. With pages dedicated to radio and to podcasts, those listening can easily switch between the two to find what they’re looking for. Not only that, but favourite shows can also be saved, and specific shows can be searched for.
On the radio side, the nation’s favourite stations are all available. Stations include BBC Radio 4, Classic FM, Virgin Radio, Smooth FM, talkSPORT the BBC World Service and many, many more, as well as national selections for Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
Switching over to the podcast feed, the most popular podcasts will appear at the top of the page and can be viewed 24/7, 7 days a week! Shows can either be searched for based on the name, or residents can explore genres to find something that interests them. Whether it’s politics, culture, news, history, sport, true crime or anything in between, there is something for everyone to enjoy whatever their interests might be.
Radioline brings all new depth and variety to an already vast array of content available through the platform. On top of the 3,000+ activities already available with Oomph! On-Demand, residents now have the opportunity to use the platform to find a radio station that brings back old familiar memories by listening to their favourite songs or their favourite radio presenters.
It will mean that this feature within the platform can be used for reminiscence, to remind someone of home, to help calm and above all else to make a moment in time more meaningful.
But not only that, through Radioline’s seemingly endless array of content, residents can learn about new subjects or stay up to date with the world around them through current affairs and news programmes. In this powerful way, Radioline will serve as both a connection to their own unique and important life story but help them to stay connected to the world around them – to learn more about the greatest figures in history, listen to reviews of the latest movies and TV shows, keep up to date with the worlds of politics and culture, or explore any kind of topic that interests them.
Many of our users have expressed an interest in the provision of radio content, so bringing them stations and podcasts from around the world, from global to local, is a step beyond in our mission to provide meaningful and engaging activities that truly improve resident and staff quality of life.
